Julia Baker is a Counsel at Mitchell Sandler, LLC. Julia advises clients on a broad range of consumer protection statutes and regulations, including those prohibiting unfair, deceptive or abusive acts or practices, as well as those concerning fair lending laws, sales practice risk, information privacy, and credit reporting laws. She defends institutions in investigations and enforcement actions brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, and federal and state bank regulatory authorities. She also has significant experience conducting compliance and risk management program assessments and has assisted companies in enterprise-wide compliance reviews.
Before joining Mitchell Sandler, Julia was a counsel at Wells Fargo focusing on consumer protection issues, including issues concerning marketing and product development. Prior to that, Julia was a litigation associate at Skadden Arps.
Julia received her J.D. from Pepperdine Law School, cum laude, and her B.B.A. from Baylor University, magna cum laude.
